It is an easy thing to do when your Dad is out of the country for work and you have finished your studies. I have been able to put more focus into helping my mum and my siblings.

They are amazing kids and I love them all so much. This time while Dad has been away it has been very hard for my youngest sister. Dad’s traveling is not an odd experience but this trip has been especially hard for her. While the others also find it tough they have been doing well.

As I was saying, my youngest sister has been struggling. Seeing how the others interact with her has shown me how much they have grown. It used to be that they didn’t understand why she would act differently or be “naughty” but they are starting to understand that she isn’t feeling well. They are also starting to understand what it looks like when she isn’t feeling well.

My youngest brother went up to her the other day and put his hand on her arm and told her that it was going to be OK. He had recognized that she was struggling and was choosing to share in her struggle. This is a big step for him as he is three years her junior and has to work through what it means to pass her developmentally.

Additionally, my other sister, who is only a year older than her, has exhibited remarkable patience. She used to struggle with showing our youngest sister patience and forbearance. She would snap or loose her temper. Watching her over the last few weeks I have noticed a change in her. She will talk calmly when our sister is struggling and help my mother and I as we navigate different struggles and triggers.

In reflecting on my family I thought of sibling groups that are waiting for families. As I looked through the sibling groups on Reece’s Rainbow (https://reecesrainbow.org/category/waiting-children/siblings) I was shocked to see Hadden and Hadley. https://reecesrainbow.org/82877/hadden-and-hadley

boys1I remember seeing their faces on the site a few years ago and I was sure that they would have a family quickly. It broke my heart to see that they were still listed. These twin boys were listed in 2014!!! Their pictures are old. The only information that is given is that they were born in 2009 and that they have a hearing impairment. It is my hope that they will NOT have to wait much longer for a family. Will you pray with me for a family to open up their hearts and lives to them?

Dear Lord,

Thank you for families. Thank you for siblings. Thank you that we can have someone who is there for us and that we can be there for them when they need it. Please help us to be better siblings not only to our biological, adoptive, and foster siblings but also to our siblings in Christ. May our Church family be marked by the love, concern, and care of close siblings.

boys

I pray that Hadden and Hadley will be able to stay with each other. Many siblings are ripped apart in order to try and find them a family who will adopt them, please bring a family forward to love and care for them that will welcome both boys into their home.

I pray that the boys’ connection with one another will develop and strengthen. I pray that they will be able to rely on each other. I also pray that they will learn to trust and love the family that you have for them.

May you be glorified through our relationships and the decisions that we make. May you be the one we turn to when the going gets tough and when there is reason to celebrate.

Thank you for the lives of these young boys. May they be enveloped by the love of a family who will support them and care for them. May they get the help that they need to succeed. Please grant them a family soon so that they do not have to wait any longer. They have waited long enough. May the tide change and a family come.

Thank you,

Amen.

Hailey and Hugh

Yesterday was my youngest sister’s birthday and today is my youngest brother’s birthday. We have been having a lot of fun and our sister has come back for a visit so we are all together. Thinking about birthdays with my younger siblings always makes me happy but a little bit sad. I know they missed out on birthdays with family before they were adopted and I am so glad that they can now celebrate with people who love them.

http://reecesrainbow.org/118285/hailey-hugh

Hailey and Hugh are siblings who are waiting to be adopted. I chose them today because they are the same age distance apart as the birthday girl and boy in my family. Also like my littlest sister, Hailey can remember her birth family. It is hard when they can remember but it also brings about a greater joy when they choose to love both families.

Hailey is nine and while she struggles with developmental delays and vision issues she is described in very positive terms. Hailey is said to be easily distracted but is making improvements in her comprehension. Despite her small size, Hailey loves to help others and wants to be adopted with her brother.

Unfortunately Hugh is unable to live with his sister at the moment because of age and gender but they miss each other very much. He is said to be a very curious little boy who is reported to be cooperative and is able to follow rules despite the tendency to get distracted.

For families that qualify there is a $4,000 grant to help pay for the legal fees. Please pray with me that Hailey and Hugh will be adopted soon and be able to be together again.

Dear Lord,

Thank You for Hailey and Hugh. Thank You that You love them and have a plan for them. Please bring a family forward to adopt them, may they get to grow up together, to laugh and to love together.

Please bring a family forward to help them be all that they can be. To support Hailey and help her to grow into a beautiful young woman both inside and out; and to teach Hugh what it means to be a man who cares for others, who loves others, and who stands up for others. Thank you so much for this family, give them strength and patience when things get tough and the ability to celebrate the little victories.

May You be glorified in all things! Thank You for what You have done, are doing, and will do. May You be praised!

In Your holy name I pray,

Amen

Bruce

Update: Bruce has a family who has committed to adopt him! Thank the Lord 🙂

This is Bruce! He is an adorable three year old little boy with HIV and Hep C on his file. Blessedly, this video is from last month. It is always a great joy to be able to see pictures or videos of children who are waiting for adoption that are really recent. On Reece’s Rainbow he has $1,536 donated to help pay for some of the fees of his adoption. Bruce’s R.R. page.

Please join with me in praying for this little guy.

Dear Lord,

Thank you for Bruce. Thank you for his adorable little smile. Please help him to continue to smile and to brighten up the world around him. Lord, I pray that You will call a family forward for him. Please bring them quickly so that he can grow up with a family from a younger age. That as he learns and grows he has a family with him, helping him and supporting him.

Thank you for those that look after him as he awaits adoption. Please give them knowledge of how to help him and the others that they look after. I pray also for his friends and the others that he lives with. Please give them hope and life. Please bring families for them as well.

Every child deserves a family. I pray that you will strengthen people around the world to follow Your will and adopt children. To give them a hope for a future. I pray that these families will act under Your guidance and direction and that they will raise up the children with Your love.

I pray this in Your name,

Amen.

Declan

Born in 2005 Declan is described as an easy going and quiet boy who is blessed to be able to attend school where he makes average grades and is a leader in his class. He enjoys numbers and studying as well as playing outside in all sorts of weather!declan-300x300

Declan was admitted to the orphanage when he was just a newborn and is still waiting for a family after all this time. It has been said that this young man has strong language skills and that his actions seem timid and slow due to his impaired vision.

Declan has also been blessed with a $10,000 older child grant. Please pray with me that this awesome boy will have a family soon!

Dear Lord,

Thank you for Declan. Thank you for his wonderful smile and for his love of studying. I pray that You will bless him with a family who will help to grow his love of learning and numbers.

Thank You for the blessing of a grant for Declan. I pray that this grant will help the family that will come forward for Declan and that they will be wise in the moving forward in the adoption process. Please bring them forward quickly so that Declan can have a family soon.

Thank you for this boy and others like him waiting for their families, may they know Your love.

For Your glory and Your kingdom,

Amen.

Dear Lord,

Thank you for Macarius. Thank you that he smiles and that he can talk. Thank you that You have made him and that You love him.

Lord, I pray that this little boy will have a family very soon. Thank you for the $126.20 that has been donated to his name on Reece’s Rainbow.

Lord, please help his family to come soon so that he can have the surgery he needs on his foot so that he can have some hope of learning to walk. I also pray that he will be able to get the physical therapy he needs for his cerebral palsy, as well as allowing him to be able to get glasses if they are required so that despite having strabismus he can see and learn. Please help his family to help him overcome his mental delays. Also, please help his family to feed him well so that he can no longer be malnourished but grow into a healthy young boy.

Thank you for this special boy. Please help him to know that You love him and care about him. Please use him for Your glory so that all people can know the heart that You have for the orphaned and for those in distress.

I pray all of this in Jesus’ name,

Amen.

Daphne

Today is my little sister’s birthday!  (Happy Birthday Treasure!!!!) It is her first birthday in a family 😊😊😊😊!

Daphne, like my sister has just turned nine. http://reecesrainbow.org/12431/daphne-1037

Dear Lord,

Thank you for Daphne!

Lord, I pray that she had someone love on her for her ninth birthday.

Thank you that she is responsive and affectionate. Lord, please help her to keep these attributes even with the transfer to the adult mental institution.

Lord, please bring a family to her soon so that she can get the therapy for her Cerebral Palsy. Please bring someone to love her and understand her despite her cognitive delays. Please, Lord, bring her family to her so that she does not have to stay bedridden and so that she can achieve all that you have in mind for her.

Thank you Lord for the $2,145 grant on reeces rainbow, may it be used greatly for Your glory and so that her family can get her quickly!

May this little girl be blessed and be a blessing to others through Your power.

For Your glory and for Your kingdom!

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.
