Marielli

Matt and Amber

I was talking with my youngest sister today and I was struck by how thankful she is. She was drawing a picture of a character she remembered from a book in her orphanage. She told me that the picture that she drew really wasn’t her picture because the book hadn’t been hers. She went on to matter-of-factually say that she didn’t have anything.

I mentioned how she now had her own things and instead of being sad about her past she gave me a huge smile (her smiles light up a room) and nodded. This is her through and through. She is thankful for what she now has and is excited by it.

I love how she is thankful but it hurts my heart that she knew a reality in which she never had anything to call her own. There are other children who are waiting for families and they are the same. They don’t get to experience owning and caring for something that is theirs.

Marielli is one of those kids that are waiting for a family. She has been waiting for years. I remember seeing her face as I looked on Reece’s Rainbow years ago and it saddens me to know that she is Marielli-2still waiting. Her post is also old, the latest update is from 2015! http://reecesrainbow.org/101065/marielli

This beautiful little girl was born in 2011 in the People’s Republic of China with a cleft palate. She was blessedly apart of the cleft exchange in 2012 that was run by Love Without Boundaries. This means that her cleft palate is post-operative. However, in the 2015 update it was stated that she did have a small hole in her palate.

When Marielli was first listed she was described as a social and active little girl who loved to splash in the bath. In the 2015 update she was described as a cooperative introverted little girl. Thankfully as of 2015 she was living in a foster family.

Would you please pray for her with me?

Dear Lord,

Thank you for Marielli. Thank you that she is important and that you have a plan for her. Lord, I pray that you will bring a family forward for her. May they help her to grow in life and in love.

May she get the surgeries she needs for her palate and the help she needs to develop to the best of her ability.

I pray that she is still in a good foster family that will show her love and show her her worth. May you protect the family and help them to live out their roles with wisdom and patience.

May your name be praised for the work that you will do in this little girl’s life. May you show your love and power.

In your name I pray,

Amen.

Hailey and Hugh

Yesterday was my youngest sister’s birthday and today is my youngest brother’s birthday. We have been having a lot of fun and our sister has come back for a visit so we are all together. Thinking about birthdays with my younger siblings always makes me happy but a little bit sad. I know they missed out on birthdays with family before they were adopted and I am so glad that they can now celebrate with people who love them.

http://reecesrainbow.org/118285/hailey-hugh

Hailey and Hugh are siblings who are waiting to be adopted. I chose them today because they are the same age distance apart as the birthday girl and boy in my family. Also like my littlest sister, Hailey can remember her birth family. It is hard when they can remember but it also brings about a greater joy when they choose to love both families.

Hailey is nine and while she struggles with developmental delays and vision issues she is described in very positive terms. Hailey is said to be easily distracted but is making improvements in her comprehension. Despite her small size, Hailey loves to help others and wants to be adopted with her brother.

Unfortunately Hugh is unable to live with his sister at the moment because of age and gender but they miss each other very much. He is said to be a very curious little boy who is reported to be cooperative and is able to follow rules despite the tendency to get distracted.

For families that qualify there is a $4,000 grant to help pay for the legal fees. Please pray with me that Hailey and Hugh will be adopted soon and be able to be together again.

Dear Lord,

Thank You for Hailey and Hugh. Thank You that You love them and have a plan for them. Please bring a family forward to adopt them, may they get to grow up together, to laugh and to love together.

Please bring a family forward to help them be all that they can be. To support Hailey and help her to grow into a beautiful young woman both inside and out; and to teach Hugh what it means to be a man who cares for others, who loves others, and who stands up for others. Thank you so much for this family, give them strength and patience when things get tough and the ability to celebrate the little victories.

May You be glorified in all things! Thank You for what You have done, are doing, and will do. May You be praised!

In Your holy name I pray,

Amen

Birthdays!

Today is my sister’s 18th birthday! It is so cool. I am so proud of everything that she has already accomplished in her life and I am so excited to see what God is calling her to in the future.

This past week has also marked my mum’s birthday as well. There has been so much celebration in my house as we let these two AMAZING ladies know just how special they are to us.

I will continue to let the birthday boy/girl/mum/dad chose who I will pray for on their birthday as a way to celebrate their life and the lives of children who still wait for a family.

My sister chose Elize: http://reecesrainbow.org/98787/elize

Elize-2-300x274Elize-1

Elize is an amazing young lady who despite working through the challenges of being deaf loves to communicate and does very well in school. Wiggles (my sister) would love to see this young lady at home with her family and have some awesome conversations with her new mum and dad!

My mum decided to chose the sibling group of Aaron, Abby, Accel, and Addy. http://reecesrainbow.org/99505/4-siblings

These four kids are strongly attached to one another and as my mum says “all kids need mums and dads to love them. There are enough losses in adoption without kids having to lose their siblings as well.”  As a mother who adopted a sibling group of four my mum has seen how hard it is to adopt a sibling group but also the joys that come along with it.

Dear Lord,

Thank You for my Mum and for Wiggles. Thank You for putting such amazing people into my life. I pray that as we celebrate their birthdays they will see in us a small glimpse of the love that You have for them.

Lord, I also pray for Elize. Thank You so much for this young lady. Please bring forward a family for her. Thank You that she is out going and loves to communicate with others. I pray that this will help her to attach to the family that You have chosen for her.

I pray also for the four children that wait together. Please bring a family forward so that they can stay together. Please give the family the strength to help all of them grow into the people You have chosen for them and also help the children know that they are all important and all matter.

In Your name I pray,

Amen.

Three awesome kids!!!

These three kids are on Reece’s rainbow and I believe that they live in Taiwan. Though I did not meet them I was privileged enough to visit their AMAZING country! It is my prayer that they will find families to love them, teach them, and care for and about them for the rest of their lives!!!

heatherabitaihsu-225x300

Heather is an amazing girl who was born in December of 2003. She has been diagnosed with moderate cognitive delay which is suspected to be the result of abuse by her birth father. She also has Epilepsy which she is receiving medication for. She also wears glasses for her myopia and astigmatism.

cullenabitaichangnov2011-300x199

Cullen has a mild physical disability which affects his lower extremities. He is also diagnosed with cerebral hypoplasia, severe mental developmental delay, and epilepsy. Beyond all his diagnoses however Cullen is just an 11 year old kid who needs some love, patience and stability in his life.

merlinabitaiLOnov2011-31-217x300

Merlin! This little guy was born October 2007. Unfortunately he was hospitalized for a long period of time after he was born. He lived with his birth mother until January 2010 but is now living in an orphanage. He receives therapy in his orphanage (Yay!). Merlin is diagnosed with moderate intellectual deficiency and congenital cardio disease.

Dear Lord,

Thank you for Heather, Cullen, and Merlin.

Thank you for Taiwan and the people there and that these three awesome kiddos are apart of Taiwan itself.

I pray that You will provide families for these three that will love them and care for them through their medical needs and through their lives. I pray that they will encourage them and help them to be the best that they can be.

Lord, may You be with these kids and let them know that You love them and cherish them and that they mean everything to You because You created them and You love them with Your whole heart.

Lord, please help us to love the people that You have placed in our lives the way You love Heather, Cullen, and Merlin.

For Your glory and Your kingdom, I pray.

Amen.

Awards night!!!!!!

Tonight was the awards night for the club team that I coach for, and my brothers, Kiwi Boy and Warrior, swim for. Both boys were recognised with awards!

Kiwi Boy received the “rookie of the year” award.

Warrior recieved the coaches merit award for his group.
Sawyer and Finn are an awesome pair of brothers (like my brothers) who are waiting in Europe for a family of their own.

Dear Lord,

Thank you for Sawyer and Finn. Thank you that they are brothers and that they have the awesome blessing to be adopted together as brothers.

I pray that a family will step forward and adopt these brothers together so that they can stay together as BROTHERS.

Thank you, for Sawyer. Lord, I pray that this 13 year old boy will be loved and cared for. I pray that his family will help him get the glasses his needs for his farsightedness and his astigmatism.

I also thank you Lord for Finn, an awesome 10 year old boy. I pray that the family that you have chosen for this young man will help him be all that he can be and help him to have all the things he needs for his cleft palate, inguinal hernia, scrotocle, and his developmental delays.

Thank you so much for these boys! May you bless them and the family that will bring them home as their boys so that they can be SONS, BROTHERS, GRANDSONS, NEPHEWS, and COUSINS!

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.
